National Apprenticeship Week – Jasmine’s story

Apprenticeships are available in a wide range of fields to meet your ambitions. Take a look at the amazing things that Trainee Dental Nurse Jasmine had to say about her time working towards an Apprenticeship with Acacia Training.

What work experience and / or qualifications did you have before you started your Apprenticeship?

Access to Higher education science, Health and social care

What encouraged you to undertake an Apprenticeship?

I really was interested in the learning on the job and being surrounded by people who can help and support me through the Qualification.

In your opinion, what has been the best thing about undertaking an Apprenticeship?

It has given me the confidence to sit another course and to enjoy learning again and it can be very rewarding, and I’ve learned skills that I didn’t know I had!

What have Acacia Training and your employer done to support your learning journey?

I’ve been given time in my working day to do on the job training and complete course work tasks. I get in-depth one to one session with my tutor where I can go at the pace that suits me and obtain full understanding. I get around the clock support and get a response quickly.

What new skills have you acquired in undertaking the Apprenticeship?

I’ve improved my English and mathematics skills and have been able to expand my vocabulary. My confidence levels have increased and I am able to speak loud and clearly to staff members and patients. I am able to work well under pressure and complete work to a deadline.
