Emergency First Aid at Work Training Synopsis (1 Full Day)

Course Goal

The Emergency First Aid at Work Training aims to introduce both experienced and in-experienced individuals to the fundamental principles of emergency first aid at work. It covers a broad range of essential topics, Cardiopulmonary resuscitation of adults including the use of the AED device. How to behave at the scene of an accident and what to do. How to deal with common accidents, illnesses and injuries. How to assist an adult or child who is chocking.  The use of a first aid box and the legislation behind it, also the roles and responsibilities of a first aider. This comprehensive training equips participants with the fundamental information they need to act in an emergency and develop their professional portfolios.

Course Objectives:

  • To demonstrate competency in Adult CPR

  • To demonstrate competency in use of the AED

  • To explain and demonstrate what do at the scene of an accident.

  • To explain and demonstrate how to deal with various types of bleeding, including catastrophic bleeding

  • To explain and demonstrate how to deal with a chocking adult and child

  • To explain and demonstrate the primary and secondary survey

  • To explain how to triage a scene

  • To explain how to deal with common illnesses and accidents such as heart attack, epilepsy, stings, fainting, nosebleed, diabetes. eye injuries etc

  • To demonstrate use of bandages for various injuries and how to apply a sling

  • To know how to use a first aid box and what should/should not be included in it

Course Format:

Delivered in Acacia’s learning lab (or on Site) in person by fully qualified tutors

Learning through PowerPoint presentations, tutor-led sessions, and interactive activities

Assessment Methods:

Evaluations through Q&A sessions and discussions.

Continuous assessment of learner understanding and engagement by the tutor.

Completion of a multiple-choice test covering all training aspects.
